I may not always believe in and trust our government, but I will ALWAYS believe and trust the American Soldier.  You have taken a sacred oath to protect the many FREEDOMS that so many of us take for granted.  Please understand that I am grateful for your sacrifice(s) and your service on my behalf.  It is an honor to call you "My Countrymen".

Meeting in Flint
Date: 6-5-2014 at 6PM
Location: Flint, Michigan

Department Convention Flint Gateway

As yesterday’s defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today’s military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.

WWII
Korean War
Vietnam War
Persian Gulf War
  Kosovo
War in Afghanistan
War in Iraq
War on Global Terror

and other Peace-Keeping Expeditionary Campaigns throughout the globe.

"Coming home doesn't mean the battle is over". With over 10 times the amount of veterans lost to suicide than to combat operations in the same time period, there has never been a more important time to TAKE A STAND and DO something to support our veterans!!

If you or someone you know is suffering from PTSD, we have people that have shared a similar experience and are ready to help.

It All Started when VFW4659 member, Bruce Hartung, Vietnam Veteran, Purple Heart(s) recipient and USMC Sniper Extraordinaire, decided to paint the parking block in front of the "Combat Wounded Veteran Parking Only" like the ribbon so it would match the Medal.  From that point forward there was no stopping this Marine, It is rumored he was out there just after dawn covered in camouflage paint, so no one would see him and no cars were parked in the lot.  He began the pain staking, time consuming job of priming/masking/painting/ and repainting each parking block until each parking block represented at least one of our members hard earned awards which give them the Privilege to belong to the VFW.
The ribbons below are listed, pictured from left to right on the screen.

Vietnam Service, Vietnam Campaign, National Defense, Purple Heart, Korean Service, War on Terror Service, War on Terror Expedition, Southwest Asian, Afghanistan Campaign, Iraq Campaign,

Welcome to your NEW WEB PAGE

There will be many new things to look at, I encourage you to explore all the pages above, particularly News & Events and Gallery each will have sub-categories to explore, for example under News & Events you will have items like, Newsletters, Holly National Cemetery, Goldstar Mothers, Blood Drive, Peach Festival, and so on, by clicking on them there will be more information behind the scenes.  In the Gallery you will find many categories that will include pictures behind each category, theses will be from older events. There is also an Officers Page that will allow you to get to know your elected officers better (this is still under construction waiting for more input).  After you browse through the pages (Tabs) on top of the Home Page, don't forget to check out the bottom of the page for more places to visit, for example Programs, which if clicked on will explain how a student in the local high school can apply for the Carl LaRock Scholarship Program and even have a link for the form to fill out.  Please remember this site is brand new and many things need to be added/updated, please check back frequently.  If you receive error codes working the site you may email me at cchiefmsgt@gmail.com  This Email is ONLY for this web site and you will NOT receive a reply, I monitor this email weekly only, should you need to contact me and expect a reply you must do so through my AOL account which is not listed here as this public site is open to scrapers & spammers to capture my email and deluge me in Spam.

VFW Salutes United States Army for 241 Years of Service
Our nation’s soldiers are America’s true heroes.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – June 14, 2016, marks the 241st year of service from the United States Army. The U.S. Army has evolved drastically since it was originally organized as the Continental Army in 1775; battlefields have transformed, weaponry has evolved, faces have come and gone, military uniforms have varied, but one thing holds fast: the bravery and the heart of the individuals who wear the uniform, and their commitment to their mission.

What Others are Saying

The Officers

President Kennedy said once "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." There are few ways less noble to serve our country than through the military. The courage and strength that you all exude are qualities which deserve only our highest gratitude. I cannot thank you enough for what you have done.
